I cannot delete the employee as he has worked here for years. How can this be resolved? I have tried updating his email address and doing a “forgot password” but the email to reset the password does not arrive. Thanks, Diana, just tried this and it worked, the employee got a new invite. Tracy – I had the same problem and found this in Xero help – I’m waiting to hear from the employee if this worked but it’s worth a go In Payroll, go to Employees.
Find the employee you want to resend the invite to, tick the box to the left of their name. Scroll back to the top of the list and there is a button to “Invite to Payroll”. Hi Catherine, unfortunately they aren’t showing as users as they’ve never activated the link. I tried that solution from your previous thread I’m afraid. If you go into users under the Advanced section, and delete them as a user and then resend them the link it should work. I have two members of staff that have never accepted their invite to payroll.
It now won’t let me re-invite them. I’ve tried removing the email, saving and adding again but to no avail One of them found the old link in their emails but the link has expired. I can’t delete their user profile from the settings as they aren’t showing, possibly because they’ve never accepted the invite.
Please help! I’ve had a similar problem. One employee can’t access his payslip so I’ve tried sending a new invite, Xero won’t let you, I followed the advice above and Xero still won’t send an invite. So now what? I’ve had the same problem with an employee who says he hasn’t received the invite I have tried removing email address, saving it and then re-entering it, still doesn’t allow you to resend. Or they could log on to webmail on the new phone and retrieve the previous invite?
Even if it’s deleted they can maybe get it back from the recycle bin? Hey Marcus, no i have tried that, but because i have already sent it to thst email address, it won’t resend, it pops up, saying i can’t resend because i have already sent it to that email. I will see if ahe has another email address I can use. Hi, have found out how, I hope. Go to your employee list, and tick the employee that you have changed the emai address for, and then at the top of the screen – it says invite to my payroll.

All you need to do is go to Current Employees and tick the box beside the names of those employees wishing to access their payroll account. The greyed out box that states “Invite to My Payroll” lights up so you can then click on it and the invite is sent again. Has anyone managed to work out how to re-send the invite to the employee in these circumstances??
How frustrating! Had this exact problem – took quite a bit of searching to find this workaround to the bug. Please fix. Instead of removing them from users list go on list of current employees select them on the tick box and press ‘Invite to my payroll’ button at the top of the list. This will resend the email. After removing them from the users list i went to my employee list and when I clicked on box beside the employee a box at the top of the column say invite employee to payroll. Just hit this and it worked.
Kelly – when I look at the users, the person I want to remove is not listed. I can see if I click on someone else, how I would remove them, but they are not there to remove. Hi team, a little catch on this one. If the employee’s already been invited accepted or not they’ll now show in User settings. Ask our community of customers, accountants and bookkeepers.
